Trade union bill not backed by evidence
A large number of academics in the field of industrial relations have criticised the government’s trade union bill, stating that it is not backed by evidence. As we reported last month, the bill includes measures aimed at controlling industrial action.
In an open letter to the government they describe the bill’s provisions as “draconian” and call on the government to instead look at how to “engage and involve the British workforce and its representatives in rebuilding the UK economy and raising productivity through fairer and more supportive rights for workers.”
