handling redundancy

Handling Redundancy

Many employers have to deal with handling redundancy from time to time. This training programme deals with handling redundancy collectively as well as individually. The training helps delegates to understand the legal requirements required in handling redundancy fairly and effectively. It deals with collective and individual redundancy, detailing the requirement for consultation, fair selection and avoiding discrimination.

It includes the following modules:

  1. What is a redundancy – outlining the legal definition and how redundancy fits with the other potentially fair reasons for dismissal,
  2. Collective redundancies – the requirements that apply when an employer is contemplating dismissing 20 or more employees within a period of 90 days,
  3. Redundancy and unfair dismissal – Developing a fair selection process and ensuring that it is applied consistently, seeking ways to avoid the need for redundancy and alternative employment,
  4. Avoiding discrimination – ensuring that the process is free from unlawful discrimination.

This is a half day course.

We can also provide training for employee representatives in collective redundancy situations as long as you do not require training for your managers.
