EMPLOYMENT LAW UPDATE – 31 JANUARY 2017

WITH GUEST SPEAKER, DR ANDREW DICKSON
MANAGING EMPLOYEE STRESS, ANXIETY AND DEPRESSION
THORNBURY GOLF CENTRE – M5 (JUNCTIONS 14/16)

Its time again for our 18th bi-annual Employment Law Update designed to keep HR managers up to date with everything they need to know about employment law. As always, we will examine the latest developments in employment law including the implications of Brexit and the latest on gender pay gap reporting.

The Health and Safety Executive estimate that in 2015/2016, 11.7 million working days were lost in the UK due to employees suffering from stress, anxiety and depression. We will look at how to deal with this difficult area of employment law. We are pleased to be joined by occupational health physician, Dr Andrew Dickson who will explore the reasons why people become stressed, anxious or depressed.  He will then discuss the techniques used to treat mental health problems as well as explaining some of the positive steps that employers can take to help reduce the risk to their employees.
